How much money has Mike Freer saved you?

If you live in Finchley or Golders Green and are a hard working Council tax payer, did you know that your local MP, Mike Freer has saved you a fortune!!!!!!! Many families have benefitted from years of zero rate council tax increases from Barnet Council. I am sure we are all glad to have a few extra pounds in our pockets. What many local voters don't realise is that this a direct result of all the hard work Mike Freer, your local MP, has done during his long career. Mike was elected as an MP in 2010 and has worked very hard ever since to represent local people, but before he was elected Mike was the leader of Barnet Council. When Mike took over running the council in 2006, he was horrified at the way things were done. The unions called the shots and the council was run for the benefit of the workforce rather than being a lean and efficient machine, serving the needs of residents in the twenty first century. Wheras previous leaders had simply gone along with the status quo, Mike took on the vested interests, the unions and the siren voices!!!

Mike launched a program of root and branch reform, called the One Barnet program. This had a single mission, to drive down costs. And it has worked spectacularly. The union power in Barnet Council has been broken and now the council serves residents rather than the other way round!!!!! Even better, this has saved millions of pounds which has means YOU PAY LESS TAX!!!!!!

Have you noticed? If you are a normal, hard working resident of Finchley and Golders Green, we bet the only thing you've noticed is that your Council tax bill has not gone up year on year, like the sad old days when Labour ran the council for the benefit of the their paymasters in the unions!!!!!!!

If you are gratedul for all the extra cash Mike has put in your pocket over the last few years, then now is your chance to say thank you. Why not get in touch with Mike and help him get re-elected. Labour and the unions need Mike to lose to take power in the country. This will mean higher taxes and a return to the economics of the madhouse. All of the work done by the Conservatives to put the country back on its feet will be wasted.

Dear Mrs T

Good to see you have woken from your slumber, and returned to the world of blogging. Mike needs friends like you, to endear him to the voters of Finchley who might otherwise have forgotten he exists.

Just a few corrections. (By the way, the spelling is programme, and do stop with all the exclamation marks!!!!!!)

No one has extra cash in their pockets as a result of mass outsourcing: except the shareholders of Crapita, who now run the borough for their benefit, and not ours.

As for council tax freezes, this deprives vital public services such as social care, of essential funding. Last year Mike's Tory colleagues on Barnet Council made a pre election 'gesture' of a 1 per cent cut, giving taxpayers 23 pence a week back, but depriving services of even more money. Within a short time of this, the Tories announced they were cutting the funding for desperately needed respite care for disabled children. This is the real cost of Easycouncil.

Oh, and you forgot to mention that far from cutting their own allowances, Barnet's Tory councillors, on gaining power in 2010, announced at the same meeting austerity cuts and job losses whilst voting themselves a big fact rise in their allowances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love and kisses

Dear Mrs Angry,

However much you may not like the fact, One Barnet has saved the taxpayer a fortune. This means hard working taxpayers benefit from lower rates of tax. Champagne socialists don't seem to understand that ordinary people want to keep as much of their hard earned cash as they can. We look forward to reading a guest blog from Mr Angry, who we presume funds the champagne lifestyle. We wonder if he's quite so keen to see his money squandered. Perhaps he's just pleased that when Mrs A is on her travels around the borough, he can watch the darts and have some peace and quiet.

Dear Mrs T: I am afraid I must correct you, once again. One Barnet has not saved us a fortune: in fact in less than two years, we have paid Crapita the staggering sum of £110 million, when the deal was supposed to SAVE us £160. And that payout does not include the millions wasted on setting up the mass privatisation, on consultants' fees, etc ...

I am sorry to have to break this to you, but ... Mr Angry does not exist, and nor do I. This is all a figment of your lurid imagination.

It is true to say that I am a champagne socialist, but I buy my own champagne: however I understand you pass your days with a tin of cider gripped in your daintily manicured hand, which is really rather shocking - and was that you I saw sitting outside Asda in North Finchley this morning?
